Brian's Lessons in Heresy |
||
To begin with, I am in fact a firm Christian. As such, I find it interesting when others completely misunderstand the teachings of Christ. I had several examples from anime, but I didn't want to do a page that just pointed out that the Japaneese don't get it. Now that I have an American example, I'll put up the page.
Also, I'm not saying anything weird like that these should all be burned. (if so, why would I still have them?) These examples are still perfectly valid entertainment. Please enjoy.

Lesson 1 |

Well, watch the episode and you'll know as much about this show as I do. I kind of decided not to finish the series. The show made absolutely no sense to me until I heard a Catholic reviewer mention purgatory. It suddenly all made sense. |

And so, we have a Devil who is happy and jolly, who's goal in life is to make hell beautiful. Yeah, he has no taste. |

Lesson 3 |
||
The first lines of Misha are clearly a misunderstanding (and one where the translaters chose to show what Kotarou heard rather than what she meant to say). The real issues with this show are an angel that causes chaos, another angel that mind controls people into being good, and a demon who is so bad at being bad that she ends up being the sweetest person in the show. Then again, maybe the Japaneese do understand a bit. |
